I went to my first Country Music weekend organised by Merv and Maria last December at Pontins, Pakefield. The chalet was spotless and the food very nice and it was very good value for money. We even had a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings on the Saturday night. What I liked was when we arrived on the Friday you find a table in the ballroom and put your table cloth and any decorations you like to bring on it and then that table is yours for the weekend.
We were up for breakfast early and then our first activity each day was Line Dancing Class with Sarah who was very patient with us and we really enjoyed it.
Time then to get some lunch and have a quick walk round the camp then it was back to the ballroom for the start of the afternoon bands. Then back after to change for our evening meal and then the evening entertainment started and went on until the early hours. As soon as the first song was sung everyone was up dancing and this continued the whole weekend. The music was really good, we met nice people and Merv and Maria and family worked hard to make sure that everyone had a good time. Have already booked to go again.
